A marketing genius at Huawei decided it was an awesome idea to hijack the queue outside Singapore’s Apple store filled with Apple supporters waiting to get their hands on the new iPhones.
What did they do you ask? Well, they handed out power banks with a cheeky little message on the packaging.
Taking a jab at Apple’s widely thought to be not long-lasting batteries, the power banks said: “Here’s a power bank. You’ll need it. Courtesy of Huawei.”
Huawei told CNet that the reason for their kind gesture was to “offer respite from the weather and the gruelling wait”. Yeah, sure.
It’s said that more than 200 of 10,000 mAh Supercharge power banks were given out by the Chinese phone maker. FYI, these retail at S$98 (RM297).
This stunt came after they posted a Facebook post claiming that their HuaweiP20Pro has looong-lasting battery.
So, are you team Apple or team Huawei?
