Looks like we’re not the only ones obsessed about graffiti artist Fahmi Reza’s controversial clown caricatures of former Prime Minister, Najib Razak. He has a famous fan in Kumar from Harold and Kumar—aka Hollywood actor and political activist, Kal Penn—too!
A few hours ago, Fahmi shared a photo of him and Kal posing in front of one of his works, which features Najib as It‘s Pennywise, and a statement—“We’re all corrupt down here”—that seeks to draw attention to the former premier’s corrupted ways and links to the 1MDB scandal.
While mostly known for his acting works, Kal, like Fahmi, is a political activist too. He used to work as a White House official under Barack Obama’s administration. It’s unsure though, why Kal is in town—his last Instagram post was uploaded three days ago, and sees him in Phuket. When contacted by The Star to speak about his meeting with Kal, Fahmi declined to make any comment.
Nah gua belanja satu selfie dengan Kal Penn. Dak2 twitter dan geng Najib jangan panas! 😎
Responding to comments from haters who see his work as meaningless art, Fahmi said, “Even a Hollywood actor knows about Najib’s clown face drawing, and travelled to Kuala Lumpur to see the posters, but in Malaysia, people in Twitter are endless with their criticisms.”
"Setakat conteng gambar badut je, tiada apa nak dibanggakan, takde pengaruh besar mana pun, tak membawa apa2 kesan, tah pape…"
Pelakon kat Hollywood pun tahu pasal lukisan badut Najib, siap turun KL nak tengok lukisan poster tu. Kat Malaysia budak2 twitter tak habis2 kutuk. 😂 https://t.co/C3zcQxHxsx

Hmmm, we wonder if Fahmi took the man for some good ol’ Malaysian food after their encounter? If not, we’re volunteering to be the tour guide!
