Agon Hare, aka the vlogger of Project Nightfall, recently posted a video about how Muslim netizens from many countries, including Malaysia, have been cyberbullying him.
In the video, he shared that Muslims from various countries had been cursing him and sending him death threats. However, he explains that although the severity of the cyberbullying really distressed him, he refuses to believe that the type of cyberbullying he faced, was taught by Islam.

Responding to the death threats, he quotes a verse in Surah Al-Ma?idah of the Quran which says:
?Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.?
He also apologises for an earlier video he had posted where he had expressed his disagreement and called for the boycott of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, the video that caused netizens to be so angry with him.
Following the news that Brunei had recently implemented Shariah law in their country, Agon had disagreed specifically with Brunei?s stand on stoning to death those who were caught participating in gay sex.
Facebook users were angry with him as they had the opinion that Agon didn?t have a right to an opinion on this issue.
It is possible that many Facebook users responded so horribly to Agon because they were unaware that expressing an opinion on an issue that?s happening in another country and calling for people to boycott a government and people IS NOT illegal. Malaysia has also called for people to boycott certain governments and people in the past, for example, we decided to reject Israel Paralympians from participating in our country earlier this year.
It is also possible, that the same Facebook users were also unaware that under Malaysian law, threatening someone with violence and death IS illegal and those who do it can be charged under section 503 of the Malaysian Penal Code for Criminal Intimidation.
Serious issues aside, kenapa Agon tu nak terasa lebih over someone calling his mother green? Playground humour je kot. Dramatic betul la.

BTW, besides Agon, many Hollywood celebrities had also called for the boycott of Sultan Hassanal of Brunei, such as Ellen Degeneres, George Clooney and Dua Lipa. Though it?s unclear if any Malaysians have called their mothers green.
