WhatsApp has finally brought stickers to the app!
Joining the likes of LINE, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp users can now customise their messages with a range of default stickers to choose from within the app.
If those aren’t enough, you can download new sticker packs for free through WhatsApp’s dedicated Stickers Store.
To use a sticker in your chats, all you need to do is tap the emoji button from the chat bar, and then tap the stickers icon from the bottom bar.
On the stickers ‘keyboard’, you’ll find a category tab, where you can select the available stickers. There’s also a history tab available for you to easily access stickers you’ve used before and a favourites tab that has all the stickers you’ve marked as a favourite in one place. You can mark stickers as favourites by pressing the star option after selecting your favourite sticker in a particular chat.
If you need more stickers, you can visit the Stickers Store and tap on the All Stickers tab. From there, pick any one of the sticker packs and tap the download button available on the right of the sticker pack. Then, tap the My Stickers tab to view all your downloaded stickers.
For those of you who are on WhatsApp Web most of them time, no need to fret cause stickers will be available there too! You only need to access WhatsApp Web from your browser to start using stickers that are available on your WhatsApp. If you don’t see them yet, try clearing your browser cache, okay?
According to Gadgets, stickers are already available on WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.18.329 or later and WhatsApp for iPhone version 2.18.100.
However, at the time of writing, we haven’t been able to spot the feature on the latest version of WhatsApp for iPhone. This could be because the feature is rolling in on iPhone slowly, based on a report by WABetaInfo, though its designed to work on all iPhone models running iOS 7.0 and later.
For those who have stickers on WhatsApp already, have fun!
