On Feb 20, a ?Datuk Kong? idol was stolen from a nearby home and placed at the Surau Sabilul Huda in Klang. Three days later, Hindu idols were also placed at the same surau.

The incidents shocked Malaysians as many speculated that somebody was likely trying to create friction between the people and incite a race war.

But it turns out it was just the work of a ?gila isim? man.
Malaysiakini reported that police have arrested a man who admitted to placing the idols at the surau. Klang Selatan district police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli claimed that the suspect is a practitioner of ?deviant religious knowledge? aka ?gila isim?.
?At 6.15pm yesterday, a police team raided a house in Taman Pandamaran Indah, located about 200 metres from the surau, and arrested a 37-year-old Malay man.
Based on his preliminary statement, the suspect admitted he was involved in the two cases on Feb 20 and Feb 23,?
According to Shamsul, the suspect was motivated by a dream.
?While at his family home, the suspect dreamt of the Kaaba being surrounded by idols and believed that he had to do the same to the
surau .His motive in the first incident was to invite the Chinese community to pray at the
surau while the motive for the second incident was to invite the Hindu community to pray at the surau.?
The suspect reportedly has two previous criminal convictions, one for voluntarily causing hurt, and another for theft. Shamsul added that the suspect has also tested positive for drugs, specifically methamphetamines.
Even though the motive of the incident turned out to not about inciting a race war, we're proud of the Malaysians who didn't let the incident get to them and encouraged everyone to stay calm.
