Canada are through to the last-16 of the football festival in North America, after a dramatic 1-0 victory over South Africa this morning.

The co-hosts netted their winner in injury-time to advance to this stage of the competition for the first time ever.

Canada will next face either Morocco or The Netherlands as they seek a place in the quarterfinals.

Hong Myung Bo has stepped down as South Korea’s head coach after the team exited the tournament in the group stage.

The Asian side had finished third in Group A but their results were not good enough for them to advance to the last-32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams.

George Russell has won the Austrian F1 GP, taking the chequered flag ahead of Max Verstappen while Kimi Antonelli finished in third. 

It moves Russell up to second in the drivers’ standings, 40 points behind his Mercedes teammate Antonelli.
