Traffic light traders have literally gone the extra mile for sales!
Each time the traffic light turns red and vehicles start to slow down, teenagers carrying bottles and bottles of sliced mangoes could be spotted going through traffic trying to get people to buy their product.

But, did you know that you could be fined RM2,000 for supporting these traders?
During a press conference on Monday (March 15th), Johor police chief CP Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said that conducting businesses at traffic light junctions is a punishable offence because it endangers both the traders and road users.
“Through Ops Kesedaran, the Johor police have identified 52 locations that have become venues for business activities at traffic light intersections throughout Johor,” he told Utusan Malaysia.
He added that according to the provisions of the law, not only traders can be prosecuted, but buyers as well, and they can be fined not more than RM2,000.
He also urged that traders would look for other methods of selling the jeruk buah that are both safe and in accordance with national laws.
The police have not yet received any reports of accidents involving these activities.

Meanwhile, netizens on Twitter seem to agree with the actions taken by police to stop these traffic light traders.
Pandangan aku lak, bahaya jual kat traffic light ni. Tapi kita kena faham mereka cari rezeki. So, aku rasa kerajaan patut halang mereka jual kat traffic light tapi pada masa yang sama guide mereka untuk bina perniagaan yang betul dan sustain.
