According to Free Malaysia Today, IJN had said that Adib was showing signs of progressive deterioration of his lung functions, due to his severe injuries. Doctors had decided to reinsert the Veno-VenuousECMO system again at 9pm last night to assist with his breathing.

In addition to this, Adib had also required dialysis support as his kidney function had not improved.

Adib was part of the team of firefighters who reported for duty in USJ25 after receiving a distress call over protests at a temple, which also saw rioters setting fire to vehicles in the area.

Adib’s remains will be taken to the Hang Tuah fire station in Kuala Lumpur for prayers before being buried in Kedah.

After news of Adib’s passing was reported online, several government officials, along with many Malaysians who were rooting for him, shared their condolences on Twitter.
