Many Malaysians are currently affected by the devastating flood that has hit several states including Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Perak, and Selangor.

It was reported by CNA that Pahang is the worst-hit state, with more than 10,000 victims evacuated in recent days.
Yet, in spite of the floods, Malaysians are still sharing positive and humorous stories on social media to bring out the best during the worst of times.
In a tweet, user @farysnordyn shared a photo of his express bus, en route from Kota Bahru to Kuala Lumpur stalling in Raub as the bus was caught in floodwaters.

With the confidence we had during our encounter with the first flooded road, our bus decided to go through it once again. And tada !!!!! We are suddenly floating gaissss 😂

His caption reads: “Our bus successfully went through the first flooded road, and then encountered a second flooded road which we had to make a U-turn and use the alternative road.”
“With the confidence that we had from the first encounter, our bus decided to go through the flood and tada… we were suddenly floating!”
The engine then died, followed by the air conditioning, and the lights which left the passengers and the driver in darkness.
Passengers then started to panic as floodwaters started to rise to the first deck, while those in the first deck had to move up to the second deck to save themselves from the flood.

Fortunately, the Bomba showed up not too long after that to save the passengers, and they were brought by boat to a nearby mosque for shelter.

“The masjid not only sheltered us, but there were also families stranded since 6 pm on 3 January. Cars were parked at the mosque compound, the power supply was cut off.”
“At first we had good 4G reception but then the cellular signal also got cut off. This was at 3 am on 4 January. Then later our water was cut off. How to go to the bathroom now?”
After that, he managed to call his family to tell them what happened and they tried to get some sleep in the mosque, while it was still raining heavily.

He noted that: “My feet was super cold and we were sleeping on the ceramic floor. At that moment we feel like we were in the TV show “Survivor”.
“But we woke up the next morning with the view of our bus with the first deck totally underwater now, including our luggages.”

He went on to express his gratitude to the people of Kampung Jeram Besu who provided the stranded passengers with food, “Of course we also had limited food to fill us through the day. Lucky for us, the people from Kampung Jeram Besu were tremendously kind and welcoming.”
“They even cook food together and send them to the masjid for us.”

After being ferried by a Bomba boat and police truck to a new bus, @farysnordyn resumed his journey and arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (5th January), and he even got himself a t-shirt as a souvenir of his experience in Raub, in which he called the “naturally printed batik shirt”
