It’s common knowledge that you throw garbage into the trash bin to keep the environment clean. But are we doing it right? 

Well, apparently not, because many of us still don’t have the proper waste management skills according to a video that recently went viral on social media.

In the video, a cleaner is seen lifting a trash can to load the garbage into the garbage truck when suddenly heaps and heaps of waste that weren’t properly packed in trash bags are seen pouring out of the bin.

The man then tried lifting the trash can again to try and remove the excess trash that was still inside the bin, but to no avail. He then tried lifting the bin a few more times before all the garbage was finally cleared out. 

“Why do people throw away garbage like this? Look at how hard it is for us to dump out all that garbage,” the caption reads.

“It would help if you guys pack all your garbage in a trash bag and tie them up properly. Let’s take care of each other, okay?”

He also reminded the public to wash the trash can after collection, “The liquid waste is acidic, and it can ruin your trash bin.”

The tweet has since garnered over 220,400 views at the time of writing.

Internet users also shared similar experiences having irresponsible neighbours who don't throw away their rubbish properly. Some even shared tips on how to manage waste properly.

My house area mmg tukang kutip smpah ni xkan ambil sampah xberikat or di luar tong sampah. Ramai xsuka tpi I setuju sbb bila buat mcm ni baru la dorg nk letak n ikat elok2 plastic smpah tu. Kalau x sebelum ni habis bersepah plus anjing2 pn kacau smpah berterabur tu 😩

Buang sampah ni bukan untuk senangkan kita, untuk senangkan org yg akan kutip sampah kita nanti. Kaca kena wrap leklok, nanti kena kat org lain. Sampah basah tu ikat leklok, tapis air biar tak bertakung sngt. Tak salah pun kan menyenangkan urusan orang lain, dapat pahala lagi☺
