In response to the panic buying that has happened over the past few weeks, Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd released a statement yesterday (23 March) that it has been churning out bread at maximum capacity and would not be able to provide more in the market for purchase.

Through its official Facebook page, Gardenia thanked customers for purchasing its products and apologized for the inconvenience it might have caused.
Panic and chaos ensued all across social media after the statement was released from netizens who thought that they would need to face this difficult time without Malaysia’s favorite Roti Gardenia.

Luckily, Gardenia released another statement today reminding the public why they are the best brand of bread out there.
“Gardenia is producing and delivering your favourite bread and snacks, seven days a week even during this MCO period. Daily deliveries to supermarkets and other outlets are proceeding as usual” it said.
It also advised the public to avoid panic buying and only purchase items based on necessities.
“We urge all our customers to remain calm and buy according to your normal needs and daily consumption,” the statement read.
“Gardenia is in this together with you, and we would like to reassure you that we are doing our best, working 24/7 to increase our production to meet consumer needs,” it added in the statement.
Well, that was quite a scare for everyone. Let’s not let this happen again. DO NOT PANIC BUY!
