The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on many of us, and due to that, many have even lost their jobs and are unable to provide food for their families.
Which is why it’s great to see fellow Malaysians banning together to help each other out!

Recently, Twitter user, Hasha (@nurhashaidris) shared pictures of her family’s pondok sedekah, which is a small hut that provides free food and other essentials for the less fortunate in her area.

The hut is located in front of the Omar Ali Villa in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
In the tweet, she wrote: “My mother just opened a pondok sedekah in honour of her parents. If you know anyone or yourself who is staying in the Keramat or Kampung Baru area and in need of some food or essentials, do come over!”
Hasha added that it would be great if other Malaysians would step in to help by making donations at the pondok sedekah by providing dry food and essentials.
“We are running low on some items, but we recently received an anonymous package filled with essentials. May God bless you,” she wrote.
A few kind Malaysians have also helped raise over RM2,000 in just two days for their pondok sedekah!
Update : In a span of only 2 days we have received over RM2,000 in terms of donation from 20 people!! I love the Twitter community 🤍🤍🥺 Will update more when I have the chance to visit the pondok

Not only that, but her brother and the team even managed to distribute some essential packages to 25 families in need, “And it all started from this small pondok, thank you so much everyone for the support! My family truly appreciates it!”
