Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances like train delays cause people to arrive late to work. In countries like Japan, lateness is taken so seriously that you can obtain a train delay certificate to prove it wasn't your fault.
This practice, while uncommon in many places, highlights the importance of punctuality and accountability.

A viral post by LRT user Aida (@_aidaans) on X showcased a similar scenario in Malaysia. Aida shared a photo of a train delay slip she received from a RapidKL employee. The slip was verified by the employee on duty, as depicted in the accompanying picture.
On May 23rd, Aida's commute to work was disrupted due to a delay on the Kelana Jaya line. Her post gained renewed attention after another user shared it on the Reddit group r/Malaysia, sparking interest and discussions among the community.
"Today I learned that RapidKL issues train delay certificates upon request. Here’s mine, retrieved due to this morning’s disruption," Aida commented in her post.

Such certificates can be incredibly helpful in mitigating the consequences of unexpected delays. We hope this helps others in similar situations.
