The Malaysian Medical Tweet Association, popularly known on Twitter as @MedTweetMY launched a fund to support the frontliners who are actively fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to Berita Harian, the COVID-19 fund (COVID19MTM) was launched to support hospital staff and security forces who needed immediate assistance in this time of crisis.
MedTweetMY chairman, Dr. Khairul Hafidz said this could help to ease the burden faced by the group such as the lack of food, clothing and other essentials. He hoped that Malaysians would contribute to the cause so that they are able to help these frontliners who are in need of essential items like the personal protective equipment (PPE), face shields, shelters and food.
Of course, knowing Malaysians and how generous they are… the COVID19MTM fund managed to raise over RM650,000, as of 5 April.
Jumlah sumbangan terkini jam 9 malam, 5 April 2020.

MedTweetMY keeps their followers updated constantly in a thread, and also recently announced several comprehensive implementation plans involving several other professional NGOs.
With all the funds that have been collected, they launched several projects under the COVID19MTM fund, and have provided meals for doctors, nurses, medical staff including police officers and soldiers who are manning roadblocks and on patrol duty, shelters, cleaning and sanitizing equipment for health clinics, air purifiers, personal protective equipment and even ‘tudung’ for the doctors and medical staff who wear the headscarf!

The container is also air-conditioned to make sure that the medical staff is working in a comfortable environment.
