The implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been hard on all of us, and it is especially hard for those who lost their income in just 24 hours…
Twitter user @adrianNCF shared a story of how he encountered a distressed man, who had just lost his source of income due to the CMCO.
Tadi saya pi Kedai Obat Cina, beli susu tepung bayi, pasal sudah habis. Lalu 99 nampak Abang duduk tepi, resah risau, kepala tunduk. Saya tanya dia ok tak, dia kata boss baru bagitau ni 2 minggu xde kerja, pasal PKPB..awal bulan, dia x cukup wang beli bekalan utk keluarga...

In the thread, he recounted: “I was just going to the store to get some medicine, diapers and milk formula because we had just ran out, when I passed by a man who was sitting outside of a sundry shop, looking distressed.”
He then approached the man and asked if he was okay, when the man answered: “My boss told me that I will not have a job for the next two weeks due to the CMCO. I won’t have enough money to buy essentials for my family as it’s still early in the month.”

Adrian, who just met the man and didn’t even know his name, reached out inside his own pocket and handed the man RM200, which he had on him that time and after buying the things he needed.
Saya x kenal dia..x tanya nama..tapi inilah yg kita Marhaen skrg tengah alami..hari ni saya mampu, saya tolong seberapa yg saya boleh..hari demi hari membuktikan kita skrg hanya #RakyatJagaRakyat

He added in the tweet that the man was so surprised that he started crying and shook his hand. He told the man: “Get what you need, and go home to your family.”
Adrian ended his tweet by telling others to take care of each other, especially during this difficult time: “Today I can afford to do this. I will help as many people as I can as right now it’s #RakyatJagaRakyat. We look out for each other.”
Speaking to SYOK, Adrian urged everyone to always look out for each other because there are a lot of people out there that needs help, not just financially but also mentally.
You did a wonderful thing, Adrian! We can do this, Malaysians, we are stronger together!
