Since the Movement Control Order was implemented throughout the country, the government announced that only one person or the ketua keluarga is allowed to leave the house to do essential matters, like getting groceries.
It’s usually the women who go out to supermarkets to go get groceries for the whole family because obviously, women do more cooking and grocery shopping than men so they are the experts!

It’s a common stereotype that men cannot be trusted with grocery shopping, as most men are unfamiliar with food items and produce. Let’s be honest, even some of us still can’t differentiate between galangal, turmeric, and ginger!
Facebook user, Cheanu Chew shared some tips on how the head of the household can prepare for their ‘remote grocery shopping mission’ the night before.
His top tips were to fully charge your phone and get enough sleep the night before so you can stay calm over the phone to minimise disruptions before you execute your mission.
Twitter user, Yankee (@ZakiHafifi) did a thread on ‘Sayur 101’ that listed all the different vegetables that might be confusing for some people (because some of them look the same!).
Di sini saya ada sediakan panduan asas buat semua ketua keluarga yang kena keluar membeli barangan keperluan. Topik pertama, sayur.

Sayur 101 [Thread]
Tadi pi beli barang, ada sorang lelaki ni facetime wife dia. Dia duk kena bebel, tetiba dia kata
— Mira #StayAtHome (@ayraamira) March 22, 2020
"Yang, mulai esok saya lantik awk jadi ketua keluarga."
Hahahahahah 😂😂 https://t.co/eMl7wXLxeN
Meanwhile, another user Da’i Izzhar Nazri (izzharnazri) shared how he spent an hour at the supermarket but only managed to get three of the items on his wife’s list.
Inilah maksudnya panic buying yang sebenar untuk lelaki.

Terciduk hari ni dengan wife gaisss. pic.twitter.com/zCQQp63vQp
Can you imagine the ‘panic’ that’s going through their minds when trying to pick the correct things to buy?!
Only the "head of the house" allowed to go out and buy groceries? BOLEH!

I got this!
Q. What's the difference between cabbage and lettuce? Apple dgn pear are around the same thing kan? Ikan kembong in English is what? Cooking oil and Olive oil do the same thing right?
Maksud panic buying sebenar bermula apabila si suami sebagai ketua keluarga kena beli barang dapur seorang diri.

Tambah panik bila si suami tak pernah kenal mana satu halia, lengkuas, kunyit, daun sup, daun bawang, daun kucai. pic.twitter.com/DK3SwpQMQB
Penangan " HANYA KETUA KELUARGA " boleh keluar beli keperluan, beli barang dapur.

Cust lelaki " Adik, ni garam ke gula? "
Me " Gula bang. Kan dia tulis gula, besar tulisan dia tu "
Cust " bukan ape tak reti. Takut salah, bini bising pulak "
Me dlm hati, " Allahu........." pic.twitter.com/vhzaDfAjXA

ramai yang salah faham pasal panic buying ni. patutnya bukan ramai-ramai pergi serbu supermarket beli itu ini. tapi bilamana ayah/ketua isi rumah yang panic bila mak suruh beli barang dapur. baru tahu lengkuas dengan halia tu takde beza 🤣🤣🤣

Good luck, guys! There’s still eight days of the MCO (from 24 March), so there’s still time to learn!
