Recently an American media site, The Dodo, shared a 3-minute video of our Bomba rescuing a sea turtle caught in a net!

The video showed several firefighters trying their best to use scissors to free the turtle from the net.

The heroes involved were from the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department.
The Dodo re-shared the video on their Facebook page, with the caption “When he waddles back to the ocean” which received over 162 thousand reactions in just 20 hours.
Though it was just an animal, you can clearly see how happy it was to be free and back into the sea.
According to Berita Harian, the incident happened at Mersing Beach Recreation Park, in Johor.
The turtle weighed about 15 kilograms and is believed to have been caught in a fishing net while in the sea, before it was washed ashore.
Mersing Fire and Rescue Department, Operations Officer Anuar Hussine, said they received information from the public about the incident, after which six firefighters rushed to the scene.
“The turtle was found to be unable to move because it was caught in a net that also contained rubbish such as food packaging and plastics. The firefighters took about seven minutes to help release the turtle from the net using medical scissors” he said.

Fortunately, the turtle suffered no injuries and was released back into the sea immediately.
