KITA FM has made history after receiving recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for its “Longest Cumulative Distance Covered in an Outdoor Running Campaign” category through the KITA FM Satu Nama Satu Suara campaign.
The campaign was held in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026 and received support from HURIX’S, Thong Guan, AEON Credit, Google Pixel and BHPetrol.

One of the highlights of the campaign was a community run which involved all 13 radio stations under Astro Audio. Each station organized a running event in their respective states with distances ranging between three and five kilometers.
The runs recorded a cumulative distance of 63 kilometers symbolizing the 63rd Malaysia Day celebration and the campaign’s Satu Nama Satu Suara theme which focused on unity, harmony and togetherness among Malaysians.
The community run brought together listeners from different age groups, races and backgrounds while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the spirit of community.
According to Astro Audio Director Priya Dharshini Prabakaran, the achievement reflects KITA FM’s commitment to getting closer to its listeners while celebrating the spirit of unity. She said the record was especially meaningful as it was created in conjunction with Malaysia Day and represented the journey, unity and togetherness that continue to bring Malaysians together. The campaign also featured a series of outside broadcasts, community activities and entertainment programmes across several locations in Malaysia.
KITA FM began its outside broadcast series on 29 August 2026 in conjunction with the Full Rehearsal of the National Day celebration before continuing with a live broadcast on 31 August 2026 for the 69th National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya. The campaign was later expanded to selected states through various activities with listeners and local communities.
In addition to the community runs, KITA FM organised Mini Showcase KITA FM which highlighted entertainment performances in locations including Kuantan, Penang, Ipoh and Johor Bahru.
The showcases also gave listeners opportunities to interact more closely with radio personalities and their favourite radio brands.
The campaign also included community initiatives such as a free helmet replacement programme held at five selected locations such as Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. The initiative aimed to raise awareness of road safety among the community.
Priya said the achievement also reflected the strong relationship between Astro Audio and its listeners whose support has continued throughout the various initiatives organized by the network. The KITA FM Satu Nama Satu Suara campaign brought together radio, entertainment, community activities and healthy living initiatives under one celebration with 13 multilingual radio stations under Astro Audio.
The Malaysia Book of Records recognition marks another significant achievement for Astro Audio in strengthening its connection with communities and bringing radio experiences closer to Malaysians.
