Launched to discover aspiring radio personalities aged 40 and above, THE GEN X Factor aims to provide opportunities for individuals who have a passion for broadcasting but may not have had the chance to pursue a career in the industry.
Throughout the competition, finalists were put through various broadcasting challenges, including live on-air presentations, talk set executions, emceeing and audience engagement. They also received mentorship from experienced LITE announcers, gaining valuable insights into the radio industry and today's evolving media landscape.
Speaking about the campaign, LITE Brand Manager Soraya Kee said the competition was created around the belief that talent has no age limit.
"THE GEN X Factor was created based on our belief that talent has no age limit. We wanted to provide a platform for individuals who may have always dreamed of being on LITE but never had the opportunity to pursue it.
"Throughout the competition, we witnessed incredible passion, authenticity and determination from all participants, and we're thrilled to welcome April to the LITE family as our newest announcer," she said.
April's victory comes with a one-year part-time radio announcer contract with LITE, her own segment on a weekend show and a cash prize of RM1,500.

Meanwhile, runners-up Kajai Priya and Brian Cheong will each receive a part-time contract with LITE and RM500 in cash.
The grand finale was streamed live on LITE's TikTok, bringing together the finalists and previously eliminated contestants to celebrate the end of the competition. Their reunion reflected the friendships, camaraderie and shared passion for broadcasting that had developed throughout the journey.
Kee also expressed her appreciation to all the finalists for stepping out of their comfort zones and showcasing their talents, highlighting their dedication, courage and willingness to learn.
The successful conclusion of THE GEN X Factor reinforces LITE's commitment to discovering and nurturing new talent, while creating opportunities for aspiring broadcasters to pursue their ambitions regardless of age or background.
