A team of police and medical officers in hazmat suits were spotted by the public at Tower 3 of Menara Petronas on Wednesday morning (February 5th).
According to the New Straits Times, a 17-year-old Canadian teenager was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) today on suspicion of having contracted the novel coronavirus (2019-nCov).
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly said his ministry received a call from the Twin Towers Medical Clinic (TTMC) about an individual who collapsed due to the coronavirus.
“The immediate thing in our mind is the coronavirus, but it could be other illnesses like a heart-related condition. Our measure, sending the Hazmat teams was to make sure this was taken care of. We are not taking any chances. It’s better to be safe than sorry.” said Dr. Dzulkefly.
The patient was sent to HKL where she and her family members are being monitored for symptoms of the coronavirus.
