Police are investigating the case of a Russian couple who allegedly scaled Merdeka 118 without official clearance.
Kuala Lumpur chief of police, Datuk Yahaya Othman said that a Russian couple will be brought in for questioning after police saw viral photos of them scaling the second-tallest building in the world, the Merdeka 118.

“They will be investigated under the Penal Code for trespassing.
“However, we have not yet received a report from the building owner about the incident,” he told the New Straits Times.
Photos and news of the couple, Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau climbing the Merdeka 118 spread like wildfire on Reddit and other social media sites.
Nikolau shared videos and photos of her standing on top of Merdeka 118 on her Twitter, saying: “No one has done it before, ever!” which leads to netizens questioning the building’s security.
