The Schumacher name is set to ring around the F1 paddock once again!

Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time F1 champion Michael, has signed on to race for the Haas team next season.

The move comes as no surprise with Mick having been groomed from a young age to one day follow in his father’s footsteps.

The 21-year-old German is no slouch behind the wheel...

He won the Formula 3 European Championship in 2018 and currently leads the Formula 2 title race.

He’s also a member of the Ferrari Young Driver’s Academy.

Mick will be the third member of the famous Schumacher family to race in Formula One.

His dad, as we know, dominated the sport from the mid-90s to the mid-2000s, and is regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time.

Mick’s uncle Ralf, Michael’s brother, also participated in 180 F1 GPs between 1997 and 2007, winning six of them.

Sadly, Michael Schumacher will not be present to see his son get behind the wheel of an F1 car for the first time.

The Ferrari legend has not appeared in public since 2013, after suffering severe head injuries in a skiing accident.

Interestingly, though, Mick’s F1 debut next year will come on the 30th anniversary of his dad’s own entry into the sport, at the 1991 Belgian GP.
